Game two gets started at 2 pm.
Colton Turner (LHP, Jr., 3-2, 1.81) is on the mound for Texas State.
1-0 bottom 3, with Sibley on 2nd and no outs, would love to see us get a run or two here...

Sibley scores on ground out, 2-0 after 3...close games like this make me nervous.
2-1 after 5....we need some runs
Cats win 2-1.
Head got the save.
Looks like Sibley went 2-3 tonight and scored 2 runs. If he keeps getting on base this much I do think our scoring will improve though I still feel that the team's scoring issues aren't on his shoulders right now.

When a lead off guy is hitting .240 and the team is struggling to score runs, it is on the lead off man. I agree that he is not the only guy hitting poorly but, if he can get hot I think we see a dramatic improvement in offensive production.
I also think that if Sibs can get on base, a lot of the other guys in the order will start hitting the ball. For over 150 years one of the best hitters on a ball club has hit in the 1 hole. There is a reason for that. A team goes as the lead off hitter goes.
I feel this is a huge victory for the Cats. Need to go for the sweep tomorrow. Is State back on track?
This is what I posted in the game 1 thread about it.
It worries me that Sibley has been hitting decent (and getting on base at a pretty good clip) lately and we still aren't scoring runs.

Sam is a juggernaut!
This shows how much work Texas State still has left. They need to close out the UCA series with a win and take advantage of a pretty favorable schedule from here on out. Would hate to see them go into the final series against the Demons without having a berth already wrapped up.
